Cruft: Heat, Tivo, and me
Well, reading about Mr. Crufty's Tivo upgrade I finally decided to do the same thing. For me, however, I don't really want to rip shows off the Tivo, nor do I need more disk space (bascially I don't want TV to be that important in my life). Instead, I simply don't have a convenient place plug my Tivo into the phone system - but I do have a wireless network in the house - so I decided to go for the Wireless Turbo AirNet card for the Tivo.
I'm a little worried about the warning that I may have to attach an external antenna if I want to put the cover back on the machine, but I'm hoping that warning is for rare cases and not the norm. I already have a wireless bridge in the same location that gets good reception, so I think it will be okay.
Anyone out there have first had experience with the wireless Tivo upgrade?
